Outrageous is a British historical drama television series centered on the Mitford sisters, six siblings whose unconventional and often scandalous behavior attracted global attention. The show premiered on 19 June 2025, airing on BritBox in the United States and on U&Drama in the United Kingdom.
Set in the 1930s, the series follows the Mitford sisters—Nancy, Pamela, Diana, Unity, Jessica, and Deborah—along with their brother Tom. It depicts their lives marked by betrayal, scandal, heartache, and imprisonment, based on the true story of a family that refused to conform.

The series was written by Sarah Williams, based on the Mary S. Lovell biography *The Mitford Girls* (titled *The Sisters* in the USA). It is produced by Firebird Pictures, with directors Joss Agnew and Ellie Heydon. Natasha Romaniuk serves as series producer. Executive producers are Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Matthew Mosley, Craig Holleworth, Helen Perry (for UKTV), and Robert Schildhouse, Jess O’Riordan, and Stephen Nye (for BritBox). Matthew Mosley, executive producer and head of development at Firebird Pictures, is the great-grandson of Oswald Mosley through Mosley’s first wife Cynthia. Mosley described seeing Joshua Sasse in character as his great-grandfather on set as “quite surreal.”
Filming took place in June 2024 across the UK, including at St Mary the Virgin’s Church in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and Tring Park Mansion in Hertfordshire. First-look images from filming were released in August 2024.
In the US, the series premiered on 19 June 2025 on BritBox; in the UK, it aired on U&Drama and later on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on 14 June 2026.
